Bikes For Sale

MCN has always been a great starting point to get motorcyclists looking for their next bike. MCN’s unrivalled collection of Bike reviews helps riders choose their next machine.

With an all new look and feel to this section it naturally leads site users to the MCN Bikes for Sale section – where they see participating dealer bikes for sale.

The Bikes for Sale section of the MCN website generates around 1.9 million page impressions a month, from over 154,000 sessions making it the perfect place for dealers looking to sell used bikes.

Recent improvements include

  • Upload tool that can send feeds in either direction

  • New behind the scenes tech has improved how quickly these pages load

  • Works perfectly on all platforms

  • Video as well as images on bike listings

  • Video appointment request

Other benefits

  • Every week the MCN newsletter is sent to almost 155,000 signed up bikers with the latest news on bike buying that promotes the Bikes for Sale section on the MCN website.

  • Dealers using MCN’s Bikes for sale section only ever pay for what they use. MCN’s fair and competitive pricing means you will only pay for what you use.

  • The Classified section in MCN every Wednesday also works to promote the online classified section.

For the month of May 2023 MCN’s bikes for sale section generated over 8,221 direct responses for dealers through clicks to dealer websites, emails and telephone calls.

How long have you been using the MCN Bikes for sale platform?

Since we first started selling bikes in 2016. Initially we were tempted to go with the site owned by the car people, but it was far too expensive and complicated. MCN Bikes for Sale was great for us straight away. The tweaks that have been made to the platform over the years have been massive and the traffic has followed. We have considered using other platforms, but we’ve stuck with MCN because it works.

What do you like about the platform?

Uploading to the MCN Bikes for Sale platform is simple, swift and gets results. One thing you’re always short of in a bike dealership is time plus not everybody in the motorcycle industry is computer literate, including me! so keeping it fast and simple is really important.

With the MCN platform you can take a few pics on the same device you upload the listing on and well thought out check boxes simplify the specs for each bike.

So it’s been successful?

Right from day one. We’ve always sold two or three used bikes to each new machine so Bikes for Sale has always done its job well.

What are the changes to MCN Bikes for Sale that you’ve noticed the most?

The improvement in the Google search rankings have been huge. The MCN site speed has improved too and now equals or is better than what else is out there. From a public perspective it’s much easier to see which bikes are in dealerships and which are private. From the dealer listing you can see other machines in the showroom and that’s tempting for the user to explore bikes he hadn’t initially searched for. It also gives the dealer a bit of credibility.

If you advertise a bike on a platform like eBay, even though it’s clear you’re not a private seller the public don’t necessarily know you’re an official main dealer with fully trained staff and a properly equipped workshop. On Bikes for Sale it’s immediately obvious, and that matters if you’re about to spend £12,000 on a used bike.

What are the differences between the customers that come from MCN and other platforms?

We get a lot of ‘is this bike still available’ type questions from social media so you need to work harder to find the genuine customer. When they come through Bikes for Sale they tend to be the more serious buyers. That said, wherever they come from we always reply, in the past we’ve had customers that have sent Facebook messages to ten different dealers and we were the only ones to reply, guess who got the sale?

Do you use the MCN reporting platform and how does it help?

The reporting platform is clear, easy to use and gives you all the information you need. When all is said and done, it’s about getting bikes out the door and it lets us accurately track how the month is going

How would you improve MCN Bikes for Sale?

I’m told that more comprehensive specs for the used bikes are in development and that would be fantastic. We know a lot about Kawasaki’s and Ducati’s but when we get other brands in we don’t necessarily know all there is to know about those bikes so the more MCN can help with this the better.
